Let's take a look at my card now.

As you all know, I have been on an "Ink Smooshing" frenzy recently, I have used the same technique for this card too. See my previous cards here and here showing the same technique.

Instructions:
  • So I started it with watercolor card panel & Dr. Ph. Martin's Hydrus watercolors
  • Using acetate sheet, Distress water sprayer, I created ink puddles and then placed them on the watercolor panel only on the left bottom corner.
  • Taking the acetate sheet to the paper give you a bit of control as to where you want to place your color. I did not want to color the whole panel.
  • After I had the ink pattern created to my satisfaction, I die cut the Poppy from white card-stock and adhered it to the panel on the colored background.
  • Finally I stamped the sentiment and embellished using some Dew drops.

Technique of the Month - Ink Smooshing

Hello Everyone!!!
In 2017 while setting my Crafting goals, I decided to challenge myself and so I settled on the thought that each month I will come up with a card using a technique. I will try to demonstrate the technique and create a card using the technique. So today marks my 1st installment for the same.

From my previous blog post and my Instagram posts you must have realized that I have become a great fan of "Ink Smooshing tehcnique", I guess which is introduced to all of us by Laura Bassen. There are a lot of tutorials available on Youtube and various forums about this technique.  It can be recreated using any kind of watercolors available at your disposal. I tend to get best results using either Tim Holtz Distress inks, Dyan Reavley's Dylusions ink sprays, Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens or Dr. Ph Martin's liquid watercolors.

I have created a card using the same technique . Let's look at the card first .

.

Technique: The technique is really very simple. You need to remember to select colors that blend in well with one another so that you don't create a muddy mess. I had posted a short video on my Instagram feed showing the technique. You can view it here:

Card: For this card I started off by stamping the image first in black ink on watercolor card stock.  The I have used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pen to create the background. Once the background dried up, I added a few silver splatters  on the background using Fintec Mica palette. Then  I stamped the sentiment and adhered the card panel to purple card base using glue. Finally added a squins and finished the card.

Hello Everyone!

I'm back with this month's Christmas card for the Happy Little Stampers - Christmas challenge. This month's theme is "Star".

The challenge is sponsored by :

I was inspired to create 2 cards using this month's theme. Lets see the cards

I created 2 cards this month. I used Laura Bassen's famous "Ink Smooshing" technique to create the card backgrounds. For the 1st card I used the Distress inks in various shades of blues to create the background and for the 2nd card I have used Dr. Ph Matrins Hydrus inks in blue, pink & voilet. Then heat embossed stars on the background and stamped the sentiment as well. Finally embellished the cards using stars & sequins. Adhered the card panels on cards bases and I was done. Simple!

I am submitting these cards to following challenges:
I hope you all liked my card. I would love to hear back from you all. Thank you very much for taking your time to notice it. Hope to hear again from all of  u soon. Till then take care. :)

Simon Says Stamp - Jan 2017 Card Kit

Hello Everyone!!!

I know that I have been "Missing In Action" for a long time but life has been throwing some curve balls that needed my attention and so card making & crafting had to take a back seat for a while. I don't like to discuss sad stuff so lets get back to the fun and cool news.

So from the title you all must have realized that decided to jump on the card kid bandwagon this year. So I started with the Simon Says Stamp monthly card kit subscription. I have decided that each month I will be posting 5 unique card inspirations using supplies just from the card kit. I may use a few things from my own stash such as card stocks, glue, foam tape, and embellishments. I know that I'm late for the January card inspirations but I'm still going to post my cards here just to mark the start point for this new challenge.

The January card kit was very winter themed and awesome for all holiday and winter occasions. Here are the cards I created using the Simon Says Stamp - January 2017 card kit. All the unique supplies used are linked below separately.

Hello Everyone!!!
Wish you all a very Happy New Year!!!
May this year bring you good health, prosperity and lots of happiness & peace in life!!!

Hope that all of you enjoyed a Merry Christmas and had loads of New Year Celebration.

2016 went by very fast and I can't believe that it is already 2017. 2016 has taught me several life lessons which are going to be very useful in the upcoming years. In all I can say that 2016 was a great year for me in terms of paper crafting. Did a lot of die-cutting, embossing, color blending etc. Can you believe that I wrote 50 post in 2016 which means I made many more cards in the year compared to 2015

I'm thankful to all my family and friends who are always very encouraging towards me. Also I'm grateful for all the appreciation all you out there have given me. In 2017 I hope, I get to learn more new techniques and work with more awesome people in future.

Here is a short recap of all my artwork from last year.

Thanks so much for all you who visited my
blog and lovely comments last year.
Thanks for stopping by today.  Wishing all a Very Happy and Healthy New Year 2017 once again.
May God bless you all!!!
